FREE GUIDE: 4 Tricks To Find Your Local Customers On Instagram

Today I'm sharing 3 easy ways you can collaborate with other local businesses during the holidays to reach more customers!

Partnering with another or even several local businesses is an easy way to expand your reach and get in front of people who may not know about you yet.

When you're thinking of potential businesses to partner with, you want to make sure your target customers are the same and that their followers on social media would be interested in what you’re promoting for the holidays.

1- CREATE A GIFT BUNDLE

This is where you and another local business both bundle your two products or services together for a good deal. One sale brings in revenue for both. And the customer gets a pretty sweet deal.

If you're a hair stylist, you could create a bundle with a local spa. Maybe you offer a hair service and they offer a message. Each of you would discount your service to make the bundle irresistible. So even with discounting your service, the idea is that you're reaching a new customer base - so if you're the hair stylist, you're reaching the spa's clientele and vice versa.

 2- HOST A HOLIDAY-THEMED GIVEAWAY

Get several local businesses together and each give away either a gift card or a product/service that you're trying to push for holiday gifts.

Doing a giveaway like this on Instagram will get you in front of ALL their audiences. So this is more of a brand awareness collaboration and an opportunity to get in front of new local customers.

And if you're being strategic about it, you're including your perfect holiday gift idea as part of the giveaway.

Start by reaching out to 3-5 local businesses who share the same target customer as you. You'll want to decide what the prize will be, when the giveaway will run, what the promotional photo or graphic will look like and how the winner will redeem their prize after it’s over.

It takes a little organizing upfront, but this can be such a fun way to promote your holiday gift ideas in front of a larger audience -- and gain new local followers in the meantime.

3- GET IN LOCAL GIFT GUIDES

So many influencers, bloggers, local magazines and even other local businesses or organizations put together gift guides during the holidays.

The most important part is that you get in a gift guide that's being pushed to people who are your target customers.

I recommend reaching out to local bloggers and media to ask if they're putting together any guides this year and tell them you'd like to be involved.

Honestly, as a blogger I've put gift guides together for YEARS, and it's always super helpful when people reach out to me with their product or service to promote vs me having to go FIND all the gift ideas.

Check with your local news station, newspaper or neighborhood magazines too. You're bound to find someone putting together gift ideas.

Do some research and start reaching out to people as soon as you can. These guides can take some time to put together, so the sooner you can get involved, the better.

START BRAINSTORMING!

Brainstorm around a possible gift bundle or giveaway. Start making a list of potential local businesses who would be a good fit for these. Then start doing your research on possible gift guides you could get in. And when you’re ready, start pitching your ideas.
