Setting Up Small Daily Habits For Big Achievement

You’ve set your SMART Goals. You’ve listed out your action steps. You’ve decided on your top monthly priorities. Today, you’ll decide what small daily habits will help drive you forward to reach your annual goals.

Your habits are tiny action steps that become part of your daily routine. These daily habits should directly align with your bigger goals.

Do You Have 66 Days?

It takes up to 66 days for a habit to stick.

That’s a lot of days — but that’s because you’re setting up a ROUTINE.

In 66 days of doing something consistently, you can form a new HABIT that becomes second nature.

So how can we set habits into place and make sure we stick with the task long enough to create the habit?

CHOOSE YOUR HABITS

First, decide on the habits that will push you forward.

For example, if your goal is to get your inbox to zero, give yourself a daily habit to organize one day’s emails at the end of your work day. Eventually, that will become part of your normal work day routine — without thinking about it!

If your goal is to lose weight, your daily habit might include going to the gym each day at 4PM until that becomes a normal part of your life.

TRACK YOURSELF DAILY

Once you decide on your most important habits, track them daily.

Well, it wouldn’t be any fun if I didn’t share my personal daily habits for 2019!

My daily habits include:

  • Reviewing my annual goals each morning
  • Posting On Instagram / Story
  • Sorting my email inbox
  • Being active at least 30 minutes (gym/run/etc)
  • Doing one load of laundry
  • Not hitting the snooze button
  • Reading 15 minutes daily
  • Not throwing clothes on the floor (aka the hardest habit!!!)
